Gladiolus byzantinus (1lt)

Sword like leaves emerge in spring from corms in Spring. In late spring flower spikes up to 90cm tall bear bright magenta flowers with white streaks on the lower petals. Easy to grow and bulks up well. True British native. There is another form found on the continent that has more open lipped flowers and a lighter shade of magenta.
