Rare medium sized tree with large leaves edged with bristle like teeth. Leaves open pink tinged before maturing green. Scented white flowers are produced in late summer. Any soil in sun or light shade. Leaves are lardger in a sheltered position. Height and spread to around 15m x 10m.
