Yellow Willow. A spreading tree with bright egg yolk yellow branches in winter. Produces yellow or yellow-green catkins in spring, with the leaves. Max. Height 25m. Max. Spread 10m. Makes a magnificent specimen tree but equally good when pollarded where the yellow stems glow throughout the winter. Try a stand of pollards behind a mix of winter stemmed cornus and rubus for a glorious winter bed. Any soil in sun or part shade. Great near water or in boggy sites.
