Upright shrub or small tree with leaves when crushed and beautiful mahogany coloured bark when mature. Leaves have blue undersides and dark green tops. Large scented clusters of white flowers appear late spring. Needs moist, fertile soil in a sunny sheltered spot. Height and spread to 6m x 3m but much smaller in colder areas. Native to Chille where it can reach 15m.
