Douglas Fir. This is a tall, handsome and stately tree that can reach 100m tall and 20m wide. More usually to around 50m tall x 10m wide. Deep green needles cover the branches. Red female flowers and small pollen filled yellow catkins appear in early summer and are followed by masses of fir cones in Autumn. Best on neutral to acid soil in sun or part shade.
