An upright, branching, bristly biennial or short-lived perennial, with ovate, veined, dark green leaves and, in summer and early autumn, daisy-like flowerheads in shades of orange, red and yellow surrounding a prominent, conical, brown disk. Best in fertile, well drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Height 50cm, spread 40cm.
