A wonderful choice for the smaller garden with deep purple, tulip shaped flowers in spring that emerge from fury grey brown buds. Unlike most other Magnolias, Black Tulip will reliably flower twice in a season once mature. Once in spring and again in August-September. Black Tulip prefers a fertile, moist but well drained soil, in the sun or partial shade with protection from strong winds. Height and spread to 4m x 2-4m.
