Very similar to buchananii. One of the most beautiful half hardy species with dark green, broadly ovate, toothed leaves forming a bush upto 90cm tall and 60cm wide. Sturdy stems hold exquisite bright magenta, hairy flowers that protrude from pink tinged brown/green calyx. Flowers from late May right through to the first frost. Needs a very well drained, sheltered sunny spot. Take cuttings in September and overwinter under protection as insurance against winter loss. Propagation for resale phohibited.
