Mountain Cabbage Tree. This remarkable member of the Araliaceae family has large, deeply divided glaucous green leaves resembling snowflakes. Originating from South Africa with an ultimate height to around 8m but considerably smaller when grown in the UK. Can survive outdoors in mild areas but needs taking into a cool conservatory or tunnel in winter in more exposed areas. Often grown as a houseplant. Adds a tropical feel to any area of the garden. Fertile, free draining soil in sun.
