Coast tea tree. Rarely offered for sale in the UK this has attractive brown wiry trunks on older specimens. White flowers in Summer with olive green oval pointed foliage. Any well drained soil in sun. Height and spread to around 2-5m. Manuka honey comes from the pollen collected by bees from Leptospermum bushes. Makes a good specimen shrub. Sheltered area in sun is best. Tolerant of most free draining soils.
