Flat yellow flowers in May-June on sturdy stems above a mound of lacy, narrowly divided glaucous leaves. Flowers can reach an amazing 3-4m tall on mature plants. Whole plant goes dormant after flowering. New leaves appear in early spring unlike communis whose leaves appear in Autumn.
