A wonderful plant originating from a cross between c. Coggygria velvet cloak and c. Obovatus. This plant has translucent purple leaves which turn to amazing reds and oranges in the autumn. Huge grayish smoke like flower plumes in june. Eventual height and spread 18ft x 15ft (5 x 6m). Can be kept smaller by pruning. Should be pruned in spring to remove dead wood and shorten straggly branches. A truly stunning addition to any garden large enough to house it. Any soil in sun or part shade.
