A lovely and unusual form of Ermans Birch forst collected in N Honshu, Japan. Freshly peeled bark reveals striking amber to orange tinged bark beneath with distinct horizontal lenticels on all branches and tehy trunk on mature specimens. Height and spread to around 10-15m x 8-10m. Yellow, brown catkins in spring. Veined, diamond shaped glossy green leaves turn a rich yellow in the autumn and cast a dappled shade through the summer. Any soil in sun or light shade. Especially effective when planted in small groups.
