A select form of Tartarian maple with an upright symmetrical habit, perfect for smaller spaces. 10 year height and spread to around 4m x 2.5m. Purple/red new leaves mature to purple flushed deep bronzy-green in summer. Great autumn colour and orange-red seed keys add further interest. Small, scented cream flowers in May are a good source of nectar for bees and other pollinators.
