Alpine violet. Wonderful for naturalising under trees and in shade. Masses of pink or white flowers appear from late summer until Christmas. Silver toned leaves appear midway through the flowering season and remain until spring. They then disappear leaving only the springy seedheads above ground. Easy to grow.
