False hellebore. Large, obovate, pleated green leaves are very attractive in themselves but from June to August strong, branched flower stems upto 1.5m tall hold masses of small flowers vaiiable in colour from cream to purple that helps add structure to borders. Best in good retentive soil in sun or part shade. Rhizomes are highly poisonous. Rare and very special.
