‘Midnight Feather’ is a strong grower, making a good upright truck that thickens quickly. The young leaves appear red in spring, turning darker to purple/black, are long, thin and toothed similar to asplenifolia but purple. In the autumn the foliage turns brown and will hang onto the tree until the following years growth emerges. Height and spread to around 12m x 8m. New and rare with plant breeders rights.
