A lovely small tree with finely toothed dark red-purple leaves, turning bright red in autumn. Prefers humus rich soil in dappled shade out of the prevailing wind. Hardy. Height and spread to around 1.5m in 10 years. Can be shaped and kept to size by pruning in June after flowering.
