This cistus has been used to create many of the new varieties available today. It is a result of hybridising between c.ladanifer and c.creticus. Evergreen with sticky young shoots, dark green leaves that are greyish underneath. Deep pink flowers with a maroon centre in June and July. Height and spread 4-5ft (1.2-1.8m). Fertile well drained soil in full sun.
