Dipsacus fullonum (Teasel) (10.5cm)

British native commonly known as Teasel. Rosettes of lush green leaves and in summer prickly, stiff flower spikes to 1.2m tall hold purple/lilac thistle heads that ripen to a golden brown and act as a magnet for bees, butterflies and Goldfinches.Great for naturalising, seeds freely. Looks good anywhere, in wild flower meadows,  around ponds or scrubland.
