Crape Myrtle. Deep reddy/pink new leaves turn a deep green as they mature. Creche paper, pink flowers in late summer burst from beautiful, symetrical, ballon shaped buds. Prefers full sun and shelter in well drained fertile soil. Mulch well in Autumn as in harsh winters it can die right back. If this happens new shoots will appear from ground level in May-June and flowers appear at the tips of new wood. Ground level pruned height = 0.8 - 1.5m. Unpruned height to 8m.
