Coarse, wrinkled green or greyish green leaves. In summer sturdy stems hold spires of pure white flowers surrounded by white bracts. Hardy biennial that is drought tolerant. Often grown in dry gravel gardens but will become bushier when grown in more fertile soil with increased moisture. Height to around 1m.
