Monkshood. Strong upright flower spikes appear from August to October holding masses of hooded bicoloured soft blue and white flowers. Height and spread to around 1.2m x 0.5m.  Any fertile soil in sun or shade. Beware Aconitum are very toxic but offer a beautiful and mysterious display of flowers when many other perennials have finished.
