Hundreds of star shaped, pink flowers are densely packed on sturdy stems to 4ft (1.2m) in June-July.  The flower spires move gracefully in the wind and closely resemble the look of a foxtail hence the commen name. Rosettes of grey green strap like foliage. Any humus rich but well drained soil in sun.
