Dark green, leathery fronds make bold clumbs to 1.2m tall and wide in the right conditions. Although not a true tree fern this will develop a trunk in time. Evergreen but best to cut back all fronds in March to make way for the new seasons growth. Humus rich, moist but free draining soil is preferable. Great near water in shade. This is a must have fern for the fern collector.
