A lovely neat dense growing shrub to 2m with foliage in the fairly typical herringbone style, and attractive red pink flowers.  A deciduous species which is covered in bright red fruit in September often accompanied and outlived by the scarlet autumn colour of the foliage before it eventually falls away. First introduced to the UK by Ludlow, Sherriff and Taylor from Tibet in 1938.
