Long, slender, arching spires of white scented flowers appear from late summer and Autumn above dramatic, purple, toothed leaves. Height and spread to around 1.2-1.5m x 80cm. Needs moisture retentive soil in sun or shade but best in partial shade. This is the source of many other named varieties of purple leaved bugbanes and tends to be more robust and reliable but can be variable.
