In spring reddish, bronze tinted, deeply divided foliage appears that matures to a glossy green. Strong upright flower spikes appear from August to October holding masses of hooded deep blue flowers. Height and spread to 1.6m x 50cm.  Any fertile soil in sun or shade. Beware Aconitum are very toxic but offer a beautiful and mysterious display of flowers when many other perennials have finished.
