Venus is the result of a cross between Cornus nuttallii and Cornus kousa Chinensis. It has enormous creamy white, rounded, flower bracts up to 15cm accross that gradually turn pink with age. It can be grown as a multistemmed shrub or as a small tree reaching an eventual height of around 6m x 4m. Fabulous autumn colours. Prefers, moist, humus rich, neutral to acid soil but is surprisingly drought and soil tolerant. Beautiful, strawberry like fruits follow the flowers on mature specimens.
