Galangal or Blue Ginger. Large lance shaped green leaves are arranged alternately on stiff upright stems that grow to around 2m tall. In summer creamy flowers are borne in terminal clusters. Prized for its culinary and medicinal properties this galangal needs to be kept frost free (ideally above 10c) and in good light. Fast growing with rhizomes reday for cropping 3-5 months after planting.
