Fagus sylvatica (root trained 20-30cm)

Overview

British native. Wavy margined leaves open a soft apple green in spring maturing to a deeper green then yellow and orangey brown in autumn. Dead leaves hang onto the branches through the winter giving a good screen when planted as a hedge. Height and spread to 25m x 15m. Any fertile, well drained soil, in sun or light shade.
